Do you stay in contact with any of the prof's from your college? Often they have some connections. Have you made a list of friends, family, friends of family, etc., who may know someone who manages project managers in your field? Have you considered scheduling informational interviews with manager's of project managers? My suggestion ... approach the problem in the same way that you manage a project. There are several excellent web sites that offer information on how to find the "perfect" job. Monster has a wealth of information. Good luck!

It depends. What do you want to do? You've already answered some of that. An engineering management degree will allow you to understand the technical aspects of solving problems for people and give you insight into the business aspects of industry and decision-making.

I've taken the engineering management track in my education and it fits very nicely with my experience of being a project manager, test engineer, production manager, and systems integrator. In my jobs I have been able to focus more on the human interface skills than the technical aspects of the mechanical and electrical properties of a component. This has been a great fit for me, but I recognize that it's not for everyone.

The engineering courses get more difficult as you progress, but you also have better skills and more knowledge that allow you to work about the same. What I've found is that the problems become more complex, but I'm better equipped to break the problem down and solve each of the sub-problems.

Professors are all different. I had only 4 tests (2 mid-terms and 2 finals) in my entire doctoral program. When I was an undergrad, I had one calculus instructor who gave no partial credit. I've had problem solving tests where the answer didn't matter...we were tested on the ability to set up the problem correctly. The prof didn't care if we knew how to use a calculator to get the final answer because all the hard work was already done.

For me, engineering management has been the best of the technical and business worlds. When I complete my degree, I will be teaching masters students in an engineering management department.

basically you will have the knowledge of an engineer but you will also think like a business man. So with an engineering management degree you can create your own engineering firm or say for example an engineer designs a device, you would be in charge of delivering that device to the public at a price that would cover the cost of inventing, manufacturing and selling it.

It's a really good degree it will increase your career options

you can lead new development teams and programs. Management is the hot ticket nowadays to add to an already prestigious engineering degree. engineers by nature are forward thinking and see things without slant, which is perfect for management.

I don't think it will matter what your undergraduate major is. The popular pre-law major is political science, of course. But law schools want to see a variety of majors. You may stand out with yours. They're basically looking for anything that helps a student to develop strong analytical skills. I definitely think engineering will do that.

It teaches you to value engineering data as "opinions" and to give them less weight than business "facts" so you can ignore sound technical advice, curry favor with management, and then blame the engineers when the product line is failing.
