Gabriel Said:

What do i do about getting my degree in Business to lead to Event planning ?

We Answered:

event planning... do you mean like party banquet type events? best idea would be to look for someone who owns their own business and ask if you can come on as a personal assistant while getting a degree. (a marketing degree may really help) they can help show you the ropes and perhaps turn into a partnership in the long run.

Adam Said:

Is there a college that I can attend to obtain a degree in event planning?

We Answered:

You may want to get a degree in marketing. I have never heard of a degree in event planning. If that is your career goal, try marketing (if you want to go to college) or try to get a job with an event planner. You may do some research to see if there is some sort of certificate program you could take.

Good luck with your dreams!

Jon Said:

what universities offer a bachelors degree in event planning or event management?

We Answered:

Hello

For information on specific courses and application deadlines, use the UCAS website at http://ucas.com/students/coursesearch/. Using the A – Z subject list select ‘Event’, either as a single subject or as a combined option, to find all available courses. There are 435 listed under ‘all Event courses’ and 36 listed when ‘Event’ is selected as a single subject. From these lists, you should be able to narrow down your selection according to course content or course location, for example. Select any course of interest for more details, including content and entry requirements. Contact the university admissions office for clarification, if you still have any queries.

Once you’ve narrowed down possible options, try http://www.unistats.com:80/ if you would like to compare your selected courses and universities. You’ll need to register for this site but will then be able to submit details for comparison.

Attendance at a university open day is generally helpful, to have the opportunity to meet staff and students and have a look at the facilities available. If this isn’t possible, try contacting departments such as the Faculty for more detail about the course content and format, Careers for information on graduate employment prospects or the Students Union about facilities and student life in general.

You may find it helpful to check out the Prospects graduate employment website; at http://www.prospects.ac.uk/p/types_of_jo… for more detailed information about the job role and employment opportunities.

Allow time to research these sites in case you see other links of interest. Review plans regularly in case you change your mind or entry requirements vary. I hope this helps answers your question and wish you well with your study and career plans.

Eva Said:

do you have to have a degree in event planning to actually DO event planning?

We Answered:

I don't think so. I know a lot of people who do it w/o a degree. But they have certification programs and even a Bachelors in it. You can increase your clientele if you have credentials though. But word of mouth is better than a degree in my opinion.
