Graphic Design Online Degree

Carol Said:

what is a good school in mn that offers online degrees for graphic design?

We Answered:

You can easily compare info about these schools in this site - schools.iblogger.org

Laurie Said:

how long does it take to get an online degree in graphic design?

We Answered:

it depends on what type of degree you are looking for. Associate degrees are typically 2 years and Bachelors degrees are typically 4 years although I have heard of Accelerated programs for each. This site has some good information on online graphic design bachelors and associate degrees:

My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.

I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!

Im looking to do a degree in graphic/web design online?

We Answered:

Take another look at the Open University because you can mix and match elements of different courses to make up your own degree ie taking T211, T183 and M364 from Computing and Design, C39 web applications and development and so on.

Take another look at all their site or ring them on 0870 333 4340

I did work all this out for myself earlier this year but decided against home study

Russell Said:

Are their any state universities that offer an ALL ONLINE DEGREE in Graphic Design?

We Answered:

In all the years I have been in academia, I know of ONE person who got a job with an on-line degree, and that was at an Indian Tribal college in the middle of nowhere North Dakota.

All legitimate [accredited] colleges and universities have a requirement for a certain amount of on-campus study.

Don't waste your money. go to the closest campus of an accredited school.

Good luck to you.

Trying to get an online degree in Graphic Design. What are some online colleges i should look for?

We Answered:

There are really only two art schools that offer degrees online that I like. Savannah College of Art and Design is the stronger of the two, and the Academy of Art University is less strong. SCAD is a better program. But both are decent art schools, and both offer this degree online.

There are some other good art schools that offer classes online, but none, other than the above, that offer degrees.

There are a lot of crappy art schools that offer online degrees, so be cautious. Make sure that the school has a good rep as an art school. SCAD certainly does, and AAU's rep isn't bad.

I'd avoid the chain of Art Institute schools. They are okay, but I find they have a bad rep in the field.

If you can, while you're studying, try to arrange some sort of local, real-world design work. Sort of an internship - not necessarily paid. Could be volunteer for the local skating club or what have you. Something to put real work in your portfolio.

Discuss It!
