University of Phoenix and Information Technology Degrees Accredited? We Answered:
They are accredited as a university by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges, he largest of the six regional accrediting agencies in the U.S.; regional accreditation is the highest regarded accreditation in the U.S. The IT program at Phoenix does not have program accreditation from ABET which accredits this type of program, but this accreditation is new and there are very few schools that have been accredited in this major including many that are very highly regarded.Unfortunately despite their regional accreditation, the UOPX IT program has a poor reputation and anecdotal evidence indicates that many employers do not have a very high regard for this degree. In general degrees from for-profit universities such as Phoenix are poorly regarded and you would be better served by looking for a program at a state or private non-profit university.

Why is computer science offered more than information technology in college? We Answered:
College isn't about job training, it's about education. They don't care if the major you pick doesn't offer many job prospects; it's your responsibility to pick a major that can lead to job prospects.Lillie Said:
Where should I look for a good online Information Technology degree? We Answered:
You should definitely consider attending an online college. Although some might say an online degree will be easier to earn, or will not be respected by employers, that is simply not the case.Your degree will be identical to the degree conferred upon traditional brick-and-mortar students... and as an online student myself, I can assure you, the programs are every bit as rigorous!
Dozens of well-known, respected universities ranked in the Top 100 by U.S. News offer online programs (Penn State, Syracuse, Boston U, University of Illinois, and so on). Even Ivy League universities are catching on... Harvard University offers online classes through their Extension School.
Personally, I would advise against attending any college that is synonymous with online learning. Attend a well-established university that also has a campus program. State schools often have the best tuition rates and people don't immediately think of online learning when you say you earned your degree at the University of Illinois or UMass.
Colleges offering online Information Technology programs:
University of Maryland UC
New Jersey Institute of Technology
University of Massachusetts
St. Joseph's University
Colorado Tech
Westwood College
Bellevue University
Saint Leo University
American Sentinel University
Kaplan University
Ashford University
South University
Walden University
I hope that helps!!

What is the difference between Computer Science and Information Technology degrees? We Answered:
G'day,I've studied Bachelor of Business (Management Information System) in an Australian uni and after helping many students with similar inquiries, this is what I can tell you hopefully in plain English (and also summarising what the previous answerers told you):
Comp Science is usually part of Faculty of Science. Therefore it is very technical. You will learn 'machine languages'. You are the programmer, the one creating the programs eg. games, word processing, spreadsheets etc. So Math and theory... definitely a must in this course.
Info Tech is sometimes called business computing. You are the middle person between the Comp Science ppl, who only know abt computer and programs, and a businessppl, who know only abt business, but little computer. You will learn both aspects of the world, so in most cases you will learn programming, and also some business studies (maybe as electives). You will also learn how to determine the flow of information. This is crucial to know, b'cos if a businessppl call you b'cos they want to computerised their 'manual/paper-based' system, you will need to know how the information flow in the organisations. Once knowing this, you can then advise the programmers on what kind of programs that they need to do (you dun have to do it yourself, but you can tell programmers what to do, b'cos you got the knowledge as well). Once programs done, you can implement it to the business and also give training for them as well.
Hope this helps. Good luck on your study :)
