Masters Degree In Canada

Anne Said:

what is a good school in America or Canada for a masters degree in diplomacy or international relations?

We Answered:

Georgetown or Johns Hopkins. These two are the best hands down for a terminal masters in International Relations. In a 2006 survey of professors of international relations and diplomacy conducted by William and Mary (see http://www.wm.edu/irtheoryandpractice/tr… 65% of respondents placed Georgetown in the top 5 programs and 64% placed Johns Hopkins in the top 5, making the two first and second place (Harvard was third with 46%).

Both Georgetown and Johns Hopkins are ideally located in Washington, DC, certainly the best US city for the study of international relations and diplomacy. Additionally, both have a fantastic faculty including a number of professors who work at Washington organizations (such as the World Bank, State Department, etc.) in addition to teaching.

Of the two, I would pick Georgetown. The faculty is a little stronger, notably including a number of figures who previously played key roles in formulating US foreign policy including Anthony Lake, Madeleine Albright, and George Tenet. Furthermore, Georgetown gives excellent financial aid.

my brother is working on getting a Masters degree from canada. he wants 2 study in Aberta. Can someone help us?

We Answered:

Well you need to check the admission requirement from the websites but here are few universities for you (mba rank wise and esp for alberta only):

1. University of Calgary
2. University of Alberta

If he wants to do online or long distance then there are many options like:
1. Kings college university
2. abhatcus university (u need to check the spellings!)
and many others as well.

I would say consider only calgary or alberta.

best of luck.

Ronald Said:

How can I get a scholarship to Masters or PhD degree in Canada?

We Answered:

There is nothing in Canada for foreigners. Be more ambitious and aim for America. Canadians do not recognize foreign credentials. I knew this lady whose husband was doing his gradauate work back in China or Hong Kong, he emigrated to Canada with his family, Canadians pushed him back to being a second-year undergraduate. So please, for your sake, and your children sake avoid Canada at all costs. The Canadian government is getting sued for lying to immigrants. Trust me, if you graduate from a Canadian university you won't find a job because you lack "Canadian work experience". There's this story of this guy who wanted to find a job at a fast-food restaurant and they asked him,"Do you have a university degree." Trust me, there is more opportunity in America and your degree will have more meaning internationally. Besides, Canada is one of the countries on the world where PH.Ds drive cabs. AIM FOR AMERICA.Don't heed my advice at your risk.
I know.I have experienced both.
By the way, OSAP only applies to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
