Clara Said:
Will a masters degree in social work enhance your chances of getting into medical school? We Answered:
I doubt that it will help or hinder you in any serious way ... the fact is, while there are certainly transferable skills between the two professions, they are largely unrelated.Dianne Said:
what masters degree can I pursue with a bachelor in social work?We Answered:
You would, need to contact individual universities and ask then if they accept your degree for further study for various programs./Kurt Said:
Masters degree in social work or school psychology? We Answered:
if you become a school psychologist you'll have to be around adolescents. you'll have to listen to them and help them and their families out.social work is different and you could be a clinical social worker, a social worker that deals specifically with children or the elderly population. you could be the kind of social worker that works in a hospital or for the county or for the federal government. you may do house calls. you'll have many cases at once. you'd have to be able to handle the pressure and have thick skin for the things you see and the experiences you have. it sounds like you're leaning more towards social work. maybe you can job shadow both to get an idea of what their day is like
Eugene Said:
Could I get my masters degree in social work in Pennsylvania and then go work in Maryland? ?We Answered:
As long as you go to a college that is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, you should have no problem working in whichever state you choose. However, keep in mind that some of your classes may be more relevant to the state in which your college is located. For example, if you take a child welfare class in the state of Illinois, it will discuss child welfare policy and laws as it pertains to that state. If you want to get a social work license, it would be a good idea to test for and receive in the state that you wish to work.Katherine Said:
