On Line Degree Programs

Angel Said:

Will on line degree programs be of any use for me to get a good job?

We Answered:

It depends. Many legitimate universities offer online degrees. You need to ensure the institution is accredited, or your degree isn't worth the paper it is printed on.

Check with a solid, state university to see if they offer online programs, or check with a site like www.elearners.com to get a list of accredited online universities.

Samuel Said:

We Answered:

UNIVERSITY OF PHENOIX thats all i can think of for that field!

Linda Said:

Does anyone have an opinion Phoenix University on line degree programs?

We Answered:

Too expensive.

Try this alternative...

Bellevue University in Nebraska - http://www.bellevue.edu/Online/

Bellevue is regionally accredited and has a Healthcare Management degree online. Tuition is $295 per semester credit hour for an undergraduate degree.

Good luck

Ethel Said:

Are on-line degree programs as good as actually attending college?

We Answered:

In my opinion, you can achieve a perfectly valid education taking online classes. However, you should avoid University of Phoenix and other for-profit schools. Their goal is to make money, not necessarily to provide a decent education.

Check with your state schools first. Many will have online programs and you may find something you like. For example, in my state of Florida, many community colleges and Universities have online programs. All of the following have online programs.

University of Florida
Florida State University
University of South Florida
University of Central Florida
Florida Atlantic University (FAU Owls)

When looking for a school, be sure the check accreditation also. You can check accreditation of any school at the CHEA website http://www.chea.org/search/search.asp

One last thing, don't pay more than $250 per undergraduate semester credit hour. Any more than that and you are paying too much. If you do feel the need to pay $400 or more per semester credit hour, at least go to Penn State. http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu At least you'll be getting a degree from Penn State. That looks a whole lot better on a resume than University of Phoenix.

Annie Said:

Are there any on-line degree programs in Spanish/Latin American Literature?

We Answered:

yes

Alex Said:

Are there any universities which give on line degree programs for Psy D outside America and Canada?

We Answered:

Online degrees? Why do you even bother. I rather show up at a job interview with toilet paper.

Roger Said:

Are there any real on-line degree programs where I can get a one year certificate?

We Answered:

Of course. You're just asking about a certificate program.

Online is fine for AA degrees and down. Tech degrees, certification degrees, etc. All are fine.

Online runs into real respectability problems at the bachelor level and up. Bachelors is sorta in the grey area. Kinda depends. Once you get up to the masters tho, online is VERY suspect.

Discuss It!
