I don't know about schools in Longwood, but Florida Atlantic University has an AACSB accredited Master's of Accounting program. AACSB accreditation is the best accreditation possible for a business program. Also, for entrance into their Master's of Accounting program, an undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting is NOT required. The program is available online.

It's about the reputation of the college and not whether it is online or classroom. Some really good colleges teach accounting online.

Know ahead - accounting is not an easy field to do online. It will require considerable dedication on your part.

The problem isn't whether an employer wants an applicant with a degree or a CPA, because you won't be able to get the CPA for a while after you graduate anyway. You usually need several years of auditing experience in order to be able to get the credential.

However, you are looking into this at a good time. The CPA firms are desperate for good employees. Since you do already have a bachelor's degree program, you can probably get by with the certificate, as long as you have 150 hours of schooling by the end of that (you need that for the CPA in 47 states now).

The one thing I would warn you about, though, is that getting your certificate from a respected school will make a difference. Don't just do anything you find online - research the placement rates of your options carefully. You may be able to do an online degree as long as it is from a good school, not an "online school", but be careful about it.
