Online College Courses

Dwayne Said:

Are online college courses easier or more difficult than attending say community college?

We Answered:

Well it depends on the various factors like teaching method of the college, students interest in that particular course, his/her grasping power, time devotion to studies. Student must be highly self disciplined to score good grades in online college.

What are some pros and cons for online college courses?

We Answered:

1st, you need to find a college that provides them. I would look for a local community college and apply for a Pell Grant. It's very ez to get, but you will have to go full time (4 classes / 12 credits). The disadvantage is that you don't have immediate feedback or the classroom atmosphere (that could go both ways) the pros are you can smoke cigarettes while doing your work and pretty much do it at your convenience. You can get an associates transfer degree to go on to a four year college (that's usually offered) or get a 2 year degree (associates) in something you like, maybe nursing or something along that lines, the degrees usually are offered towards a vocational unless you get the transfer degree, which it is a lot cheaper to get it at a community college that take all your prerequisites at a university or a more prestigious college.

Ross Said:

Could I take Online College Courses while in an online high school?

We Answered:

As far as helping your GPA, I don't think so, because those courses aren't technically in the same curiculum (sp?). You can take those classes online though, because I took some online during my Junior year in high school and I think that it wouldn't matter that your a Sophomore, unless your grades aren't great, cause the teachers might think taking more classes could hurt you.
