No, you're not crazy. The people who don't support your decision are people who are living in the in ancient times. Technology is advancing as we know it. A computer is the most important tool in our society. We do everything on it, so I don't see why we can't get a degree from it. Online learning is mostly reading and researching and reading is the key, no matter what you do. There will also be hands on activities. Even a high school diploma can be offered online. I'm going to school online and I very much like it. My dad is someone who doesn't approve on online degrees. He believes they are not the same than actually going to class, but it's my decision not his. I'm getting a Associates degree in business management at my local technical college with online degree programs. Now in my opinion I would not go to an actual online college, just too many bad reps. Going to a regular traditional school with online degree programs like the University of Southern Mississippi would be a better thing too do. When you apply for a job it will not say that you obtain your degree online. They will assume you got your degree going to class so getting a job with a B.S. in construction and experience should not be a problem. The classes are very convenient and flexible. The work is not easier nor light, but well worth it. You learn a lot, trust me.

Don't worry about what other people think. When you start your career in the construction field, the people who doubted the way you were going to get your degree will look foolish. Go with your gut. Don't let your friends and family tell you how to run your life and especially where to go to college.
