Engineers design structures and vehicles that people trust with their lives. These classes are tough and you need to be in a classroom setting where there can be interaction, experimentation and hands on teaching in order to get the full understanding of the material.
While correspondence courses may be a viable option for introductory courses you'll be hard pressed to find an accredited (by ABET) school that will award a B.Sc. in engineering online.

slooooooooow down, heh, no do not go to devry or any other private university u will be throwing your future (money) away. go get your associates part-time and transfer to a 4 yr if u have to. thats what i did.

now i dont even need it though because i make just as much running my own online biz.
