Online Graphic Design Degree

Arnold Said:

Online digital / graphic design degree? Legit school?

We Answered:

Westwood, Art Institute... both of those should do fine for you. Personally, I don't like the Art Institute... especially it's recruitment practices, but the two colleges are viewed on about the same level by most businesses. Devry, which is usually view as better by most businesses also offers totally online courses but their graphic design programs are VERY limited.

All 3 schools are nationally acreddited, but since there's more than one accrediting organization that doesn't mean that their classes will always transfer to anouther school should you descide to transfer.

Now one of the nice things about westwood is they also offer free refresher courses... which is something you want in any program you attend because of the constant evolution of software.

Hope this helps.

Edit: In response to the above person's comment about online only degrees, that statment isn't true... certainly right now online schools have a stigma about them, but that's more a result of the premature online programs that were developed before the technology to make it effective was readily available. Also, in the case of the three schools I mentioned, all three schools got their starts with physical campuses, developing their programs as any other university would and later developed their online programs when technology made online degrees practical.
