how do i know whether a degree from loughborough uni is being recognise by companies in Singapore or not?We Answered:
Check out this page: http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/momportal/…MOE does not recognise any degrees per se but if you have plans on working in the government sector, I suggest you get your degree from one of the universities listed in that list above. The chances of getting a job fitting your qualifications in the government sector if you get your degree from any other university is very, very low.
As for the private sector, it all depends on the company's regulations and the people-in-charge. I know a person whose highest qualifications is two 'N' levels but is holding a job which requires four 'O' levels and receiving wages comparable to a fresh diploma grad all thanks to connections.
At the moment, the Singapore government is invested heavily in the life science market so it'll probably be easier to get a job with a degree in life science than business. Chances are if you're an average person (i.e. no special talent for business, etc.), you'll probably be better paid if you go into life sciences. However, things may change in the future so I suggest you choose a field based on your interests, strengths and weaknesses.
All the best!
