Public Relations Degree
Edwin Said:
How would a degree in public relations support a career in banking? We Answered:
With a PR degree, you probably want to seek positions at the corporate level. Wells Fargo must be proud of you because now they can boast that they have an educated staff member on board. But you need to take care of yourself by looking out for better opportunities that Wells Fargo provides. Check out their website for the careers section.Milton Said:
What can I do with a Communications>Public Relations degree? We Answered:
Work in HR or Public Relations or Internal Communications. I believe you are fine with your career path and degree. Your best bet would be to talk to your advisor at school and double check.Danny Said:

Shane Said:
is a communication and public relations degree worth it?We Answered:
Welll, considering the way this posting is written (hey, at LEAST Capitalize "I" for goodness sake!) ...I'd say it is pretty useless! (And with the cutbacks in the Advertising fields now happening as a result of the economy -- there is NOT going to be much of a chance at entry level employment when mid/top/senior levels with the SAME education (and much more experience) will be laid off!
Toni Said:
Can i become a news anchor with a public relations degree? We Answered:
Yes. What's important is your understanding of media and how to communicate clearly. But you will need experience so you may have to start at an assignment desk and work your way up.People in all fields of journalism cross over all the time, especially in this economy.
Pauline Said:
Will a degree in communications act as a suitable marketing/public relations degree? We Answered:
Public relations - yes, most likely.Marketing - no.
Some communications degrees are highly based on things such as communications philosophy/theory/etc. This will do almost nothing for you in order to get into public relations.
Some communications degrees are practical, focusing on such things as public speaking, professional writing, etc. This will help you get into public relations.
Marketing is almost always a separate degree.
Wendy Said:
Can I go to law school with a public relations degree? We Answered:
I have graduated from law school and practiced law. The major is a very small factor in law school admission decisions. None of those which you mentioned will make a difference one way or the other in law school acceptance.
