They are very different programs. PT is a graduate program that is 2-3 years beyond a BS degree. PT you learn much more than sports. That is only a very small portion of what PTs do. PTs can treat patients from pediatrics (new borns) up through geriatrics/hospice and everything in between. PT treat the entire body including, integument, cardiopulmonary, neruo, gi/gu.

are you talking about a Bachelors in sports medicine? that would take 2-3 years AFTER you get your general ed done. and what job are you talking about specifically, because there isnt a job that is called "sports medicinist". if youre talking about an athletic trainer (which is a type of sports medicine job), the difference is that athletic trainers deal with new injuries that just happened, and physical therapists deal with injuries long after they have happened.
