I would say California State University, Long Beach. CSULB is the best CSU in my opinion. Their programs in the arts are top notch and are considered "hidden jems" (ex: art, film, graphic design, etc). It is located in a beautiful part of Long Beach and only about 2 minutes from the beach. You can practically smell the beach when on campus! It is a very large campus, plush trees and tons of parking. The academic advisors and such are very pleasant and truly want to help you. Ive done hiring for ISPs and I can say that YES it makes a difference. Many people wish it didnt but it does. Kids who say "I know as much and didnt go to college" or "universities dont teach the real stuff" might be right but thats not why corporations dont hire them. A university or college degree (or military background) shows the ability to get thru it. Its one way to weed out the smart mouthed kids that know too much on the subject and too little of what is needed to keep a job.

So yes, the same courses from a known institution does count differently. Whether its enough to justify the cost difference, Im not sure. But Im guessing that the level of the institution probably scales against the level of corporation and job you would get. In other words, to get a real salary with retirement and medical would probably need to be a real diploma

Most jobs/degree involving art/design turn into self employed businesses(if you want to make good money). I USED to be an aspiring photographer. However with photography its become wayyy too competitive these days. You can probably work for a web design company but you won't be making as much as you would like. My gf currently goes to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA for web design. One thing you must consider is the competition at that school, and after paying the 200k tuition you MUST be at the top of the class to stand out. My gf knows someone who paid the 200k tuition majoring in photography at the same school. After they graduated they could not find work, and now make a living fixing printers. After considering what might happen if I majored in photography and couldnt make money, I have now decided to go to law school. Law school is still extrememly competitive, but even the base pay for a lawyer is sufficient for a comfortable life style. Good luck!

Multimedia, as you probably understood from your course doesn't just consist of creating media for web sites.

Multimedia can range from creating a advertising clip for a company, to helping game companies arrange/design there new game intro clip.
