Child Psychology Courses

Corey Said:

Child Psychology???

We Answered:

Did some child psychology when I trained as a NNEB, and was way definately the most interesting part.
Dipping into the human mind is way way tops, go for it.

Mabel Said:

Do you think the mandate of a child psychology course for becoming a teacher has improved or diminished?

We Answered:

Personally most course requirements for teacher certification make very little sense to me. The problem is the requirements are set by the state bureaucrats who must appease the state legislators and the education faculties at the universities. The problem is all three (bureaucrats, legislators and university faculties) are so far removed from the classroom they have little concept of what it is like in reality.

Wise old saying, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing." Look at all the idiot answers on here from people who say I had a course or I'm taking a course or my favorite the one my college roommate's taking a course and I looked at their book!

Jack Said:

High school Courses for Child Psychology? ?

We Answered:

Psychology (obviously), child development, statistics, and such courses.

Stella Said:

Are there any prerequisites for child psychology in high school?

We Answered:

1. It depends on YOUR high school. No one on here can know if there are or aren't pre-reqs.
2. College classes and high school classes are NOT the same thing. That's why some colleges don't even accept AP credits. It's just not the same quality.
3. Are there separate courses or is there just one? It depends on the university. You're gonna have to look and find out.

Jack Said:

Is a Child Psychology course difficult?

We Answered:

No it is not--I think you will enjoy it. Have fun and study hard.

April Said:

Does anyone know of a college that has courses in child education, development, and psychology?

We Answered:

I would guess there are many options. I know University of MN Duluth has these options. I graduated from there with a degree in psychology and a minor in early childhood education. With that I was the director of a day care center. I don't know if that combination is still possible though.
