Consider buying a good quality ordinary frame with wide borders at a discount store or photo shop and taking it to a trophy shop which can make a metal plaque with the university name and attach it to the frame. I do not know if this method will cost less, but it seems worth investigating.

Another method would be to buy a frame with wide borders and take it to someone who is skilled at burning names into wood by using a special tool similar to a soldering iron.

If your not near the college bookstore where they sell frames.. you can try any craft store like Michael's.. They do custom framing or you can buy a nice ready made frame for less then 100.. What i would do is perhaps call the college's bookstore and ask what the dimensions are and see if they can perhaps help you. The bookstore should at least give you the dimensions of the paper. My BS degree is 13 x 14 and my wife's MA is a 8 x 10. So even how far you go in school doesnt dictate the size. Check out the website and I hope this helps..

Why ever would you throw away something you have worked so hard to gain? If you have no care for such things now, perhaps you should consider your children/grandchildren, etc. Somebody WILL care about your accomplishments when you are gone. You will rob them by throwing it away.
