Computer Science Courses

Jean Said:

What are some good colleges that offer variety of computer science courses?

We Answered:

Well MIT I think is the best school - but hard to get into. As a guy who interviewed countless people for IT jobs the prestige of where you studied is not that important. If you can get into MIT or something similar great - if you can't - don't worry too much about it. Most colleges offer what you want to study.

A bachelors is your basic 4 year degree, a masters is the most common post graduate qual (ie after your bachelors degree). What I would do is a bachelors in CS followed by an MBA majoring in IT. Combined degrees for doing that in one hit exist eg:

Thinking of doing networking computer science courses at uni. what will this involve?

We Answered:

Stop by the school's registration building and ask them for a computer networking course outline.

What do you learn in Computer Science courses?

We Answered:

A variety of things. It depends on the course. Some courses are about teaching programming, some are about computer architectures, some are about information and computation theory. They all tie into each other in the sense that they are useful for advanced computer programmers but you really have to look at the description of each course to tell what it's about.

I'm chosing college courses and wondering what is involved in a computer science course?

The study of the design and operation of computer hardware and software, and of the application of computer technology to science, business, and the arts.

What are the differences between computer repair and computer science courses in a vocational highschool?

We Answered:

hey i attended a vocational highschool. Computer repair deals with hardware issue and actual hardware repair.

What you're interested in is computer science. My hs's cs program taught c++, html, asp and integrated web design. Basically in CS you work with learning how to program and applying that to specific areas like web programming, database programming, etc.

Google YOUR STATE + WORK STUDY -- wonderful if you are not wealthy

Look for programming and computer science

Sometimes called information science

Software development and programming are very much the same

Visit personnel office at electric utility and see if they will allow you to visit programmers for study tips, pointers, and if they have work-study program

Virtually all large companies have computer science people and programmers

Programming is not the only job. Do some of this seriously and a picture will begin to form, a reliable one.
