Degree From Schools

Jerry Said:

Do Ivy League grad schools require you to have your undergrad degree from a top school?

We Answered:

It is not that unusual. However, you have to maintain at least a 3.7 GPA at the school in which you are attending in order to have a chance at being admitted to an Ivy League grad school. I'm applying to one for admission next year and I have a 3.9 GPA. If you keep your grades very high, it will at least show them that you are serious and they will at least consider you for admission. At any rate, apply regardless of what you think their decision will be. What's the worst that could happen?

Marilyn Said:

Is a degree from a foreign college recognized by local schools?

We Answered:

In most cases the entire associate degree will not be recognized, but many of the classes will. If the course descriptions and requirements match up it usually will transfer. You would have to check directly with the university you paln on attending. To do this you can send a copy of your transcript to your desired colleges and request that they inform you of which courses are able to transfer. Another alternative would be to take placement tests instead of taking the actual course. CLEP is one testing program you can look into.

Christina Said:

Has anyone ever used there degree from schools like everest?

We Answered:

My dad only got an Associates degree from Devry, and he got a job with Bellsouth (now AT&T), he's been there for over 13 years, has a middle management position, and makes good money.

Getting a specialized degree in something like medical assistance would make you a specialist like no one with a degree from a four year university can match. That's why they call it trade school, because you're there to master a profession. In lots of doctor's offices, private and public, thousands of medical assistants are hired each year who graduated from institutions like these.

You go into a place like Kaiser or Blue Shield, and you think all the medical assistants walking around went to medical school? Nope.

Go for it! If a normal four year university isn't for you, then cut to the chase. That's why places like Everest exist, I don't think their a joke.

Good Luck!!

The main advantage over other good medical schools is more personal contacts which may lead to fellowship opportunities.

Ida Said:

Does any employers accept degree from online schools such as University of Phoenix Or ITT?

We Answered:

Actually I was looking into this. The University of Phoenix is actually more expensive than taking on line courses from some state universities in Ohio. You need to go on line and compare the courses you want to take(OSU, Capital, OU, etc...)
