Diploma In Psychology

Kimberly Said:

transfering a french psychology diploma (DESS) to the american university system?

We Answered:

I think that you would have to contact the school you are interested in to get specific admissions for an international student. I know you are american but since you are graduating abroad I think these admission requirements would apply. I looked on the site of the university I attended and my friend received their degree in psychology to do the research. I will add the the site in the source you can see at the bottom of the page there is contact information for admissions for international students. You might not be interested in this university but it is an example.

Chris Said:

Is an general diploma in psychology the same as an clinical?

We Answered:

Are you talking about a BA in psychology? If so, then no it's not the same. If you just have a BA then you may not have taken psychology classes that pertain specifically to clinical psychology.

There are lots of jobs that you can get, as psychology can apply to pretty much every topic. If you're interested in topics that are related to psychology, however, you could to several things. For example, you could be a VB therapist for people who are autistic. The pay is pretty good for someone who has recently graduated.

I would look it up on online based on your particular interests, though. But there definitely is no way that someone with just a BA can practice clinical psychology.

Marshall Said:

Diploma in Psychology gets me what kind of job?

We Answered:

Depends on what kind of diploma. A B.S. in Psychology will get you a job as a grad student; there are certificates you can get to become a LPC (licenced professional counselor), or other types of therapists. Or- you can go to grad school for almost anything. A Bachelor's degree is more of a stepping stone for professional careers nowadays; unless you do something more business/finance related (and boring :) )
