You will get higher points for PhD and lowest for certificates and diplomas.
You will also get allocated points if your occupation is on the Skilled Occupations list

The job market for IT is not very good and has not been good for many years. Only highly qualified and extensively experienced IT professionals in specific fields of specialization have any chance of finding a position.

A diploma in IT is considered entry level, and therefore you will need to go on to a degree at least.

Note that so much IT work is outsourced to India, that your chances of finding a job in IT are better in India ( if you are Indian) then in Australia. If you want to stay in Australia, you will need to get out of IT and into another career with better long term prospects ( and less chance of being outsourced to India, or other places with a lot of unemployed but highly qualified people).

Be aware that this list is reviewed by the government up to twice a year.

Your best bet would be to start your degree in dubai. The University of Wollongong have a campus in Dubai and once youve started your studies it would be a relativly easy process to transfer over. Wollongong is located approx 1 hour south of Sydney.
