I take it you have custody of him? If he's still of public school age, then look at some of the public charter options, such as www.k12.com that will even supply a computer and internet connection. It's not true homeschooling, but it is independent public school at home, so he can earn an accredited state diploma, just as any other high school student in your state. K-12 does allow personalized acceleration to a large degree; they do placement tests to position him in the correct classes.

I don't know about your plan, and I don't know anyone who has used such a plan - but I do know a woman who studied for her GED at home. You earn it based on how much you're willing to study, and you do it at your own pace. It's not a matter of it "working" it's a matter of how much you're willing to study.

Try Alpha Omega Publishing (AOP.com). They have an academy where you will receive a high school diploma. Cost is $700-1100 per year. You will also need to take a placement test the first year cost $150. Registration every year after is only $100. They also offer electives for another fee. We Answered:

There is no "all full" in public school. They have to take you. If she was in school outside the US, and she's still of school age, the public school will enroll her. They may quibble about her records, and what credits she has earned, but they will enroll her. They may want to test her to find the most appropriate program for her.

If she was not in school or if she is older than 18 or so, the best choice could be a GED which is equivalent to a high school diploma, or an online/correspondence high school, such as Keystone or American School.
