Ok, your friend makes dumb mistake number one and gets his degree. He applies for some jobs. Let's assume he actually gets hired. About four to six weeks in, his boss is going to realize that your friend doesn't know what he's doing. Your friend's boss is going to investigate, find out about the fake diploma and fire him. That's dumb mistake number two.

Next, in some states, it is illegal to use a fake degree. Since he used the fake degree to get a job, if his former boss has strong feelings about fake degrees, he could turn your friend into the authorities. Now, he has an arrest record. Won't that look good on future applications.

If he really insists on buying a fake degree, tell him to practice the following phrase. "Would you like fries with that?"

Most diplomas are embossed with the school's seal, and you wouldn't be able to fake that convincingly (at least without spending hundreds of dollars for your own embossing stamp).
Besides, why would you want to? No one asks for your diploma as proof of graduation - they ask to see your final transcript.
