Hey. I work in Human Resources and we come across many fake diplomas. The best thing to do is contact your state Department of Education for a list of GED centers in your area. From that list see if they offer online courses.

Please, please don't use Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School or anything that you can get a diploma in less than a month.

Also if you run into school, search in the United States Department of Education database...it's free. And if it's a private school...use your state's department of education private school database.

Although our district is doing budget cuts, we decided to fire employees that have received "diplomas" from correspondence schools.

Don't get me wrong, these schools are legitimate "businesses" and they have their own private accreditation agencies, but if their accredation agency is not registered with the US DOE database, then your diploma isn't worth ****.

Whatever is not listed in the US database, didn't meet government standards for educational requirements...therefore schools have the right to deny your diploma because the government denied it.

And don't be fooled by the title "christian school" Everything Christian and good. Look them up in the Better Business Bureau and see if they have complaints or lawsuits.

Call around to colleges and see if they accept that diploma. Alot of diploma scams are rising and people are paying the quick buck$ thinking they are getting over. That's why it's a scam...they are getting over on you.

Go to the website and read it...it's good information...vital information.

My husband & I teach GED and homeschool.

Two choices here:

1) Go through an ACREDITED sattelite or homeschool program and recieve their diploma. (These diplomas are not special ed, they do not differentiate). Many programs to choose from. To get trustworthy advice, find a homeschool network in your community and see what your local neighbors use for pre-packaged accredited cirriculums.

2) Take your GED through the LITERACY COALITION at your local community college. Through that program you can learn at your own pace, and choose your own tutor, even to the extent of having someone you know take classes to teach you. The GED diploma also does not say special ed.

Congratulations on trying to better your situation!

Also you can enroll now at your local community college, start with refresher classes to get you up to speed of the main body of students and get an Associate Degree (These do not say special ed ) and then go to a university without disclosing your past educational experiences.

I have a friend that is at the university that graduated from special ed. just takes a little bit longer. She gets a's and b's!
