Here are my thoughts...

It is not all that unusual for entering college freshman to need some remedial courses.

Your college wants you to succeed.

Many if not all colleges have programs in place to help struggling students.

Do you have an academic adviser? If you do, then seek out their help. It is very likely that your college already has programs in place that can help you. If you do not, then go to the Dean's office or Registrar of the school and ask to be pointed in the right direction.

It took some doing, but I found one. The website below offers a free online GED test. It's sponsored by Heritage High School, and they also offer free GED prep courses that you can take online. Check out the website. However, while the program is free, you will have to pay a fee to take the GED test (and you can take it locally) or you can purchase a graduation package. Plus, the school is an accredited institution. Here are the first two FAQs from their website:

How much does your online program cost?

Our high school program is entirely free and can be taken as many times as you like. Once you complete the test course with a satisfactory grade of at least 70% per subject, you will be eligible to order your graduation package. The graduation package includes the high school diploma, transcripts, diploma frame and our free lifetime verification service for $219 + shipping.

Will I receive a diploma or a GED online?

When you have successfully completed the online testing program, you will be eligible to receive an authentic high school diploma from Heritage West High School. At this time, the official GED can only be taken from a local testing center and you will be required to pay a fee and set a time to take the monitored test.

Adult school. Really helps a lot. Some of my friends go to adult school or went, and they were able to get a diploma, they said it doesn't feel long.
