It depends on which credits you need. You need to take them from an accredited source so your state will accept them. BYU Independent Study is one online source I know offers courses of this kind: elearn.byu.edu. But before you start any classes, make sure that they will work for you. It would be a waste of time and money if you find out the courses are not acceptable.

I also know that there is a community college in my area that offers a high-school diploma program. Maybe you could look into that.

Of course there are GED courses as well, through organizations like community education.

I would say talk to a school counselor or the state office of education and find out more about your options.

See if your state offers a fee waiver for the test./ You will need a diploma for most schools. How will you pay for the tech school? There fees are much more than the cost of a GED test.
