It could work, but owning a business is not the same as 'playing around'. You need to be really good and work really hard to have a successful small business. I don't think a degree or a diploma would be of any real help - you just need to be naturally talented.

If it's something that makes you happy I'd go for it... there are always going to be people out there who want there make up done professionally. And plus your thinking of owning a business, which means you can have something to look forward to in your future. Getting a diploma is a great start also, and if you already have a talent for it you'll feel good about the praise you receive. I'd start putting money aside here and there so your prepared for the financial part of the situation. If your not sure if this is something you will enjoy in the long run, think of the possibilities, they're endless, and your never too old to go back to school.

If you're good at using the computer, or know someone who is, you can easily whip up a decent-looking diploma on the computer (I would use Word with their online clipart collection, but a design program would work, too...). Then get some of that nice parchment paper and print it out on that.

You can also get all kinds of certificates from different teacher's catalogs or online stores. Here's a link to one site:

and you can search for others on their site. You would be buying a whole package of them, but since it's only a few dollars, it's not really a big deal. (You could use what you need and bring the rest to your old elementary school as a donation!)

It varies from state to state but I never heard of a real estate diploma usually it's a certificate. I would not recommend this course not just because of the housing market but because I feel it would be difficult to make a living off of it. Think about it how often do people move from their homes. every 5-7 years is the average and now you're competing against all the real estate agents. It just sounds like a huge head ache.
