Postgraduate Diploma In Education

Marion Said:

Is this sufficient to get a gig teaching english in tokyo @ the university level?

We Answered:

It's an impressive resume that would probably go further in America than in Japan. Your Master's is in Chinese studies, not English - I think this will be a problem. Also not sure if you are a native English speaker - were you born in the States or in Taiwan/Hong Kong? This too matters to the Japanese. As someone else said a University English job is highly valued in Japan, generally they want a native English speaker from an English-speaking country and mostly prefer the UK, Canada or America. And they would likely want someone with a Master's in English or some equivalent.

Also, I'm a little confused by one thing: you said you are still finishing your undergrad, but you list a post-grad certificate and a Master's degree. How is that possible? Is this just a plan that you have, but you haven't really finished ANY of this education?

Frances Said:

what is a graduate/postgraduate diploma.? what is the value of a graduate/ postgraduate diploma ?

We Answered:

A Graduate Diploma is generally a postgraduate qualification. The diploma is normally taken following a Bachelor's degree and a successful award allows progression to a Masters Degree without having received Honours with the Bachelor's Degree.

You are right in the sense that generally taking up a full fledge master degree with little qualifications might caused you to be "overqualified" since from an employer's view both criterias - qualifications and experience worked hand-in hand. so if you are just seeking a new career direction or trying to enter into a new industry, a graduate diploma will be suffice since it puts you ahead of your peers (other bachelor degree) holders but at the same time not overqualifying yourself.

We Answered:

Well, I asked at my city council. They could help you!

Sean Said:

Why do 75% of people with a postgraduate degree support the mosque, and 70% of people without a diploma don't?

We Answered:

While I would need to see your sources cited before I can affirmatively make a judgement, it would be hardly surprising.

The illiterate and uneducated are more easily swayed by propaganda, so when they hear things like "Ground Zero Mosque", they imagine terrorists who hate their religion and their women.

While the educated understand the importance of cross checking sources and following up judgements with independently verified sources, so they understand that the Cordoba House is being placed in a predominately Muslim area of Manhattan by an Imam who has been a consistently outspoken advocate for moderation and tolerance within the Muslim world as well as a reliable source of counter-terrorism (as credited by the FBI).

There are multiple sides to any issue, including this one, thus the educated understand the importance of examining all sides of the issue and then passing a judgement with as much objectivity as possible, because these people typically operate in peer-evaluated fields where their credibility and reputation is on the line. The uneducated do what their boss says and then collects their paycheck, thus are more prone to trusting an authority (in this case, people like Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin).

Barry Said:

suppose l have hournals graduate diploma in business accounting awarded by cambridge international college if?

We Answered:

You have a diploma, not a degree. The CIC accreditations look very good, so you might find it is accepted as a degree but on its website, CIC does not seem to have degree-awarding powers. The best way to find out how to continue your education is to apply to some UK universities for a Masters degree in Accounting. They will tell you whether your diploma is high enough to join a postgraduate course or whether you need to compete a first degree. For a list of UK universities, click the link below.
