Is it that they appear to be smarter, or actually physically threatening or their manner is condescending or they undermine your contributions in class or what

If you tell me what state you're in I could look at the state's licensing requirements. Most states require you to do roughly 100-150 hours of PD every time your license is up. How those are taken (usually you take university classes, but there are often other options) and how credit is given is determined by the state.

I'd be surprised...

I've taken both kinds of training... usually NACHA/ACH transaction training isn't approved for CPE credit. And the classes that offer CPE credit don't discuss ACH....
