If you do a primary education degree leading to qualified teaching status in Scotland,can you only teach there?We Answered:
No it isn't. I live in Australia and we have many English, Scottish and Irish teachers here who acquired their tertiary degrees in the UK.Marcus Said:
What pathway (college degree, education) will lead me to this type of profession regarding the brain?We Answered:
I'm currently in a Neuroscience PhD program and that sounds like it would be what you are looking for. It's a pretty broad field (I study the function of a single protein, but other people in my program study much broader topics like Schizophrenia or sex behavior). It would give you a lot of flexibility as far as working with human subjects, brain imaging, or using animal models of disease and it gets a lot more into the biology side of things that Psychology. The degree is also specifically targeted towards research training and most programs are run through medical schools so you can learn about drug interaction if you want. If you were to go to medical school, you would have a bit of an advantage if you wanted to do exclusively human subjects research, but you would also have to go through the full program, including clinical rotations instead of being able to focus on Neurology or Psychiatry and research.Joel Said:
What is a really well-rounded college degree/education?We Answered:
You should pick a major your are interested in, not something that appears well rounded. Most universities these days have a "core curriculum" they require, which is classes everyone is required to take regardless of their major. This gives students a "well-rounded" education. My advice would be to pick something that interests you and then add a minor or two in something like a language or business that would be beneficial in many professions.Michael Said:
What else can I do with an education degree besides teach?We Answered:
Well my mom is in education and she's worked in a lot of different fields, she's done private work with kids who have dyslexia, and she's also taught at a community college, which is a bit different... I'm not sure what kinds of qualifications you need, but I'm sure you could work for the government, writing curriculum and tests and stuff, if you have graduate work, but that sounds boring as hell...Milton Said:

I have an interview tomorow for foundation degree education in context. What will they ask me?We Answered:
- Why do you want to go here?- What first brought us to your attention?
- What do you want to major in?
- What do you want to do with your life?
The important thing is to be prepared for the "easy ones" so that you don't have to stammer and clear your throat when the college admissions officer asks them. This will also give you more leeway if the interviewer throws you a real zinger that you weren't prepared to answer.
Another important part of acing your college interview is showing the interviewer your natural charm and confidence. Conviviality (friendliness in short), poise, and aplomb are three qualities that have little to do with how good a student you are but a lot to do with how your interview goes.
And also -Most interviewers will ask you if you have any questions for them. Have some questions that aren't to general to show that you already know a lot about the college but are interested in learning more. For example, "do they offer a ______ major?" wouldn't be a good question because you can look that up on the school's website.
Good luck to you =>
