Early Childhood Education Degree

Maureen Said:

What's the best college to go to get an Early Childhood Education Degree?

We Answered:

Rowan University in NJ is well known for its teaching program (it was called "Glassboro State College" several years ago and was originally known specifically as a teacher's college). It's a great university! I am applying to a Master's Degree Program there.

Patrick Said:

If I get an early childhood education degree in the US can I work as an elementary teacher in other countries?

We Answered:

You normally would have to do extra training and tests to work for local schools in other countries. The rules are different for each place, and it also may be very hard to get a work visa. However, almost every country has American schools for expatriate kids where you can apply. You'd also be eligible to teach at Dept of Defense schools overseas: http://www.dodea.edu/offices/hr/onlineap…

Nina Said:

Can I be a Kindergarten Teacher under the Early Childhood Education degree program?

We Answered:

Early Childhood is the one you want. If you go for the Elementary Ed the youngest you can teach is 1st grade.

Lillie Said:

Question about early childhood education degree?

We Answered:

The degree, yes. If licensing is involved (I don't know whether or not it is) and you are licensed in Georgia, you will need to pass Connecticut's licensing exam as well unless they have a reciprocity agreement with Georgia.

Sarah Said:

Do I need an Associates degree to get an Early Childhood Education degree?

We Answered:

Certification in Early Childhood Education generally requires a Bachelors degree (generally takes 4 years). I would be appalled if anyone could get away with just having an Associates (generally takes 2 years).
