Do you need a math credit to become a Early Childhood Educator?

We Answered:

Isn't the math required for High School?

Depends on what your plan is for further education...are you planning on entering the early childhood field as a child care worker with very little training or, the more desired, to get your Early Childhood Endorsement? As already mentioned, you'll need the math for any Bacherlor's degree.

Math is a very important skill for early childhood educators. Math is used every day in many different situations.

Your thoughts on being an Early Childhood Educator?

We Answered:

I love being a part of the first step in a child's school career. I love knowing that I have a huge role in their education and early intervention for delays. How we treat a child can affect them their entire lives. You must always be on guard to never ever humiliate and to praise praise praise. Hopefully, this child will grow up and have a wonderful school career and happy thoughts of the teacher they had in preschool who loved them and always wanted the best for them.

About Best Early Childhood Educator College?

We Answered:

For this career, there is no "best" college, except which college is cheapest, or the one where you can attend, and still find easy transport back home, or to wherever you may work part-time to pay expenses.

Child care, and most education jobs are low pay, and no one can afford to hire anyone that graduates from Harvard, Yale, or "Ivy League" college.

What I mean, if you can afford to pay big bucks for "best colleges", you'd also want to earn big bucks later to pay back your investment.

Education for a career that will never pay over $50,000 per year, doesn't require an "Ivy League" degree, and in fact may reduce your likely hood of finding employment, as employers may think you are "over-qualified."

Investigate community colleges for your first two years, and then attend a school in your community or state that has a "teacher" education program. Those degrees are issued at three levels:
Elementary, Secondary, and College certification levels.

You will want to take the classes that will allow you to get a state license in "elementary" education. Often psychology, "Reading", general studies, or liberal arts will be your major to do that.

The degree alone doesn't make you a teacher, you have to apply for certification from your state teacher accreditation agency.

They often give "provisional" (or temporary) certification to get hired, and then you must meet other requirements (like working for a masters degree) or showing proficiency for two or three years, before a permanent license is granted.

Also, you finger prints will be taken, and you must pass a police background investigation befor certification is granted.

Whether you become the "best" teacher, doesn't depend on your education, or certification.
Success in this field always depends on how much the students/children like you, and if you are friendly, caring, patient, and can still get along with school administrators.
