How is education in Canada unique to the education system United States has?We Answered:
me being Canadian as well, i think our own system is the better, we learn bilingualism, where yanks don't... and we learn American history.... while I don't think most yanks learn squat about usLance Said:
I want to get education Canada! How much does one year at university cost annualy in Canada? rough fee please!?We Answered:
If you are a Canadian citizen, a year's worth of tuition (only) will cost you roughly $4,000-5,000 depending on which faculty you are accepted into. If you are an international student, then it can be 5-7 times more expensive than a Canadian student's tuition. It all depends on what university you go to and what major you choose. Hope this helps!Dale Said:

In Canada school usually starts at age 5 and continues for a total of 13 years. Then add another 4 at university to get the degree so that adds up to 17 years. This what you meant?Bertha Said:
How much does a permanent resident has to pay for higher education in Canada? We Answered:
The rules vary at each school. If you are a legal resident they may accept just that. There may be time restrictions for residency as well.Jimmie Said:
At what age children should enter elementary school in Canada and is education compulsory before that?We Answered:
It varies from province to province or even from school district to school district. Here, in Edmonton, children must turn 5 before March 1 of the school year to enter kindergarten (so a child in kindergarten this year must turn 5 before March 1, 2011). Kindergarten is not compulsory. Children must be in school by the time they turn 6.Let's say your child turns 5 before March 1, 2011, but you feel your child is not ready for kindergarten yet. Here, you can wait and have your child enter kindergarten the following year, when he/she is already 5. (In some provinces, you would be required to put your child directly into gr 1.)
I would suggest contacting the school district as soon as you know where you'll be living to get information directly related to your situation.
I wouldn't worry too much about her knowing English before entering school. Dd had some children in her class in kindergarten who did not speak much English and they picked it up so quickly and did just fine. You might even find that where you are living may have a bilingual program, depending on the language she speaks. We have lots of those for many languages here.

How many years is the secondary education in Toronto Canada? We Answered:
It's different in different provinces. In Ontario, it's from Grade 9 to Grade 12, typically four years but some students choose to take an extra semester or year to fit in more courses of interest. In some other provinces (Alberta for example), high school is grades 10-12, and it comes after junior high of grades 7-9.
In Quebec, secondary school is grades 7 through 11, and it is followed by CEGEP, which is kind of similar to a sixth-form college in the UK - CEGEP can either be a step before university or a place to finish one's education without going to university.

what are the benefits of healthcare and education in canada? We Answered:
RayHere, you are woefully misinformed. One woman's experience does not a trend make.I have a major chronic illness and have no problems at all whatsoever obtaining medically necessary procedures and tests.
