Educational Research Topics
Shawn Said:
what topics for educational research is suitable in me, as a college student? We Answered:
I think you might want to research on the effects of internet on children's study habits. Does it improve their study habits or does it overload them with information? You may either focus your survey on an age range, say for high school students, or on a certain territory, or on a specific subject matter, say science. I'm not sure what methods of research you would be capable of doing by now but this may have either a quantitative approach or you can use expert interviews (delphi method). Good luck!Lori Said:
Hi, I am doing a research in special education, can you please suggest some topics for Research? We Answered:
how about the change from teh term retardaion that will be included in teh new DSM that will be out in a few yearshttp://www.psych.org/MainMenu/Research/D…
or why so many people in India think special education refers to advanced college education--as evidenced by teh flooding of teh special ed category with those questions
http://www.indiaedu.com/education-india/…
Special education in India was present since the pre independence time, with very few schools or NGOs helping intellectually impaired children. Today India has come a long way and made a good progress in the field of disability rehabilitation. Presently India has four national institutes for effective implementation of this special education through various government schemes.

Should schools recieve funding by district (i.e. inequalities in public schools due to wealth of area)?

I'm doing sociology As Level this year... Any tips on the Educational topic, or research from Sociologists? We Answered:
Oh dear, I'm doing it, too. It's crucial to know the different factors that can affect educational achievement, such as class, ethnicity and gender.
-What changes th government have made over the years, such as the tripartite system and the introduction of SATs...along with moe recent changes, such as EMA.
-School sub-cultures. This is where Paul Willis ["Learning to Labour"] comes in with this study of "the lads", where groups of boys would reject school.
-The self-fulfilling prophecy. Expectations that teachers have of pupils and how they affect the pupils' achievement.
-The hidden curriculum and how school is similar to the world of work. Bowles and Gintis are important here, but I need to do some revision on their view.
-Learn about the Functionalist and Marxist views on education.
Oh! Don't forget about "cultural capital"!
Have you got the 2 hour exam, with the methodology section? If so, it's important to know the different studies and ways that people can obtain information: qualitative, quantitative, covert, overt, etc.
-Advantages and disadvantages of these methods and how they link with education.
Saying that, I'm probably going to fail the exam >.<
If it helps, buy the CGP revision book for AS Sociology. It's never too late. It covers the different exam boards and it provides some exams tips at the end for each exam board.

What should I do my educational research on?We Answered:
Well, what would you be interested in?How about Hurricanes or just weather?
Maybe one about Today's celebrity fashion?
Perhaps something on A certain breed of animal?
Good luck.
EDIT:
Pardon me, but you did say "topics of interest".
Being able to do (any) research yourself is mandatory when teaching others how to do it, no? That was my frame of mind, at least...
So, I'll at least try to think of something else for you:
1. Teaching students with disabilities
2. Mentoring
3. Teaching large classes
I'll even go one extra:
4. Psychological effects teachers have on their students
Once again- good luck.
