Educational Websites For Kids

Rose Said:

best kids educational websites for ages 2-5?

We Answered:

There are so many. My girls are 3 & 6 and both are reading and able to do early math concepts and recognize some spanish words because of the web sites we use. They also get a great workout in creativity, matching, sorting with these sites and they have so much fun.

Best educational web sites for 2-5:

http://www.sesamestreet.com
http://www.starfall.com
http://www.pbskids.com
http://www.brainpopjr.com

And so far for math all I have come up with is:
http://resources.kaboose.com/games/math1…

There are a ton more. I am a graphic designer and my husband is a programmer and we homeschool our kids using a lot of these sites. I have written a sort of tutorial for kids, taking them through the different steps of computer usage and the web sites that help them develop and use their skills. You can find the full text, plus a ton (like 50) links to various web sites for kids here: http://www.sonomamothersclub.org/kids_li… (I am the web master for our local mother's club). Just scroll down to Online Games for Infants to Kindergarten!

Some on the list are awesome (like the dole web site for nutrition http://www.dole5aday.com/Kids/K_Index.js… etc.) some are just fun and some my kids don't care for (but someone else might).

Peace!

What are some educational websites for kids?

We Answered:

It depends on the grade and ages. I found a website that has the top 100 educational websites for homeschoolers, but they do have some educational sites that I was going to give.

Any good educational websites for kids about climate change/global warming etc?

We Answered:

www.capefarewell.com (maybe .org) Its an english project set up by an artist in london. It has two main aspect one of which is promoting the education of the new younger generations. It is pushing for inclusion into the GCSE sylabus and I think is going on trial in a few schools next year. Its a well designed sight with interactive aspects and plenty of downloadable reasources. Enjoy
