Is the Federal Education Department legal?

We Answered:

I agreed with Reagan that the Department of Education needed to be done away with. The constitution does not recognize the right of the Federal government to be involved with education, it should be solely a state function. Some would argue that if Congress makes a law, it is legal. I think the SCOTUS should have struck down the creation of the Department of Education. I still think we need to cut back the power of the Federal government and do what is right for America, eliminate the Department of Education.

Bobby Said:

i am losing my job to china because of outsourcing can i get a federal education grant?

We Answered:

it depends... have you ever attended college?

if you haven't, you can probably applied to the FAFSA (free application for student aid) and get some grants, work study, or loans.

if you have already attending college, you could do the same thing if you apply for a graduate program. i think (but don't hold me to it) you can do it as well for a second BA degree, but you might only get loans.

regardless, you can give it a shot. btw, it also depends on how much you made the previous year. the FAFSA has a section where you put down your tax info. the dept of ed will use that information and input it in a formula to find your EFC (expect family contribution) or basically how much they think you can put towards your education.

good luck.
