If you were in G.A.T.E[Gifted and Talented education] for 3 and 4 grade,And you moved, would you still be in?We Answered:
the school system that you move to might not have a gifted program, you or your parents should look into it. If you believe in Kant, he said " The gifted take care of themselves."Fernando Said:
I just recently got into GATE (gifted and talented education) and i really want to stay in but have trouble? We Answered:
My tips will involve encouragement rather than actual things I have done myself. I am the parent of a gifted son (15) rather than another student who would have actual things they do.First of all, you have been identified, by others recognizing your academic talent and by testing. This recognition is because of behaviors you already have in place, either the way you act/talk or your academic performance till now.
Second, I have discovered through living, that satisfaction in life can come from different sources. There is achievement through careers/education and then there is personal satisfaction through life behaviors and personal achievements not necessarily involving careers. Either one of these involve behaviors that include discipline and positive attitude.
By your question, I see you're looking for ways of achieving discipline. Look at it this way. What you do now sets you up for later in life. This is so hard to get across because you are young and have not experienced life as older people have and now know these things! If you work hard now, you may have to work hard later too, but you will have achieved to a higher level of, I don't know, personal growth and satisfaction, if you will, and you will hopefully be more at ease with life.
Does this make any sense?
For some more practical things, schedule study time daily for most things (unless you're already done with something!) so you don't have a crush at the last minute. This is easier said than done. Second, learn to feel personal strengthening from being more organized and having more knowledge. More knowledge gives you better perspective on things in general and will help you make better decisions in the future.
I know this is all rather esoteric, but I know that I didn't do these things when I was young. School was so easy, I played my way through and all I have to show for it now is a great kid who, I sadly, live somewhat vicariously through. I have a lot of "I wish I had's" on my plate now as an adult. It's too late for me in a lot of regards, but it's not for you! Good luck in your future. You do have it in you, I know you do. And by the way, when you have kids, don't forget to be their mother, even if you have a satisfying career, so you can teach them what you have learned!

What type of questions will be asked on the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) test?We Answered:
OK! So the GATE test is not hard at all! its just a little confusing. They have you draw pictures in boxes right a paragraph about a picture, write numbers backwards or upside down. The great thing about the test is that you don't have to study for it! There's nothing to study for. just remember, the test is seeing if you think outside of the box.Good Luck!
BTW: You might not even realize your thinking outside of the box, think normally and trust yourself, you got this!

What are the arguments against gifted and talented education? We Answered:
Try google scholar for academic research papers, there has been a lot of research done into gats education!I did a paper on this topic last year at uni, and something I found was that many studies found little or no academic advantage to these students to being put into a separate class.
When gifted and talented students are in a mixed ability class, they are able to help other students (peer teaching) which is of advantage to all students (there is heaps of research on this too!)
Hope this helps!

What's the point of taking the G.A.T.E (gifted and talented education) test?We Answered:
I believe educators are looking for certain scoring on gifted and talented tests from which a student can be placed in special "advanced" classes depending on whether you score high on math or language arts or both. Colleges often look for advanced classes for admittance to their college or certain honors programs within their colleges. For you, you would hopefully get out of slow, boring classes that necessarily go at the pace of the slower students. You would be in a class or classes with students who are more intellectually like you... great place to make good friends. You may find that when place more appropriately, you will enjoy school more, and find out something about yourself you didn't know.
Why is this the third time you've taken the test, out of curiosity?
Good luck!

In the G.A.T.E. program (Gifted and Talented Education Program) . . .?We Answered:
my daughter's GATE program required 2 scores off the ISAT tests. math and language. She scored in the 97% (of the country) in math but only 92% in language. She did not get into GATE for 4th grade, although her test scores were way above advanced. Her friend was in GATE and said they really didn't do anyting special. I just want her to get in for the higher grades. Her scores were higher this year over last year's so we'll see. She goes into jr. high next year so a lot can change. This info is from Idaho. Good Luck to you!
