What about cutting out cardboard shapes to use for geometry - you could use them to demonstrate the different types of triangles, as well as concepts such as congruency and symytry.
How about making a fake pizza or cake cut into different size pieces to use to teach fractions.

It also depends on where you want to teach. If you want to teach in a public school you need a certificate if you want to teach in a private school a Master's Degree is probably sufficient.

Have you spoken to your local fire department yet? They should be able to direct you to the proper people who can grant you such a certification.

You might also consider contacting the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. I've personally never heard of a certification on "fire safety/prevention", at least not issued by the state of Texas. But if such a thing exists, I would think the TCFP would know to whom to direct you.

I saw that article. I don't like any rankings of High Schools. There's just no good way to rank high schools. There are too many variables.
