Government Grants For Education
Roberto Said:
Does anyone know of any government grants available for education? We Answered:
Use the FAFSA form. It's what everyone that goes to college and needs aid fills out. And it's free. It just takes a long time and you need a lot of information. Look up FAFSA on google and it will be the first thing that pops up.Ruby Said:
Can anyone tell me where to get free government grant for education? We Answered:
Check out Federal Student Aid Web Site or FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/I suggest you explore all federal funding and grant options at the Federal Student Aid website http://federalstudentaid.ed.gov/
You may also want to read the Handbook of the Pell Grant -- this is an 86 page document that contains everything about the grant
http://ifap.ed.gov/sfahandbooks/attachme…
Or you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/gtepfpg.p… at 1-800-433-3243 and ask them if there are any programs for you
Aside from FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and Pell Grant http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/index.htm… , you may want to explore private foundation grants

how can you apply for education grants? We Answered:
The best place to file for education grants is at the FAFSA website. The Pell Grant is based on the family income and savings if under age 24 or not a military veteran. The best thing is to apply now or as soon as possible to be able to get the most help from the college itself. The form for the fall semester or quarter became available on January 1. I will list some other sources to locate money for college, but some of the deadlines might have already happened by now.First, current high school students can locate local scholarships at the high school guidance office.
Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.
Third, your high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships. for current high school students.
Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.
Good luck!

There are many grants available but you need to verify the creditability of the source. The local library, in the reference section is a good start. The internet is ok but you need to check out the reliability of the offer.
Peterson's is a reliable source to verify

Many other sources, but check the library. They have a lot of information and its free and definately worth the trip.
hope this helps

For private grants, you may want to check the Foundation Center's Foundation Grants for Individuals Online http://gtionline.fdncenter.org . It's a subscription based website ($9.95 per month) and their opening blurb says that the database is ideal for "students, artists, academic researchers, libraries and financial aid offices." You may be able to find grants from private foundations.
