Grants For Education
Misty Said:
Does anyone know of any education Grants for women returning to college? We Answered:
Most importantly file your FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Contact the financial aid office at the school you plan to attend to see what options they may have for you. Also, check with your local employment office (unemployment office) to see what they may have. Many participate in a program called WIA, workforce investment act. Also, some disabled students qualify for something called Voc. Rehab. Good luck.Misty Said:
Are there any education grants for children with learning disabilities? We Answered:
Contact your school district first. Start with the head of special education, and explain the situation. If they can't help, you might want to contact a lawyer. In some cases (not all, but some) the school district is required to pay for a private school if they can't provide the child with a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). Sometimes all it takes is a phone call or threat from an attorney, if you have a case. Many states have state sponsored programs for special ed kids to attend private schools with vouchers or scholarships if the district can't meet their needs. Check the state web site or call and talk to someone in the special ed department.

Who can help me find education grants? We Answered:
Your best bet is to go to your local library or even the bookstore and look for a book called Scholarships and Grants and this book will help you find a scholarship designed just for you.Online you can try www.Collegeboard.com or www.petersons.com. I hope that helps!

what to do if someone is using education grants for things other than education? We Answered:
When the school receives the grant funding, they first deduct what they need for the school bill to be paid (Tuition, etc.). The grant money leftover from that is then sent to the student in the form of a check, but this does not mean the student can use this money for whatever they want. It must be used for education-related expenses such as rent, books, travel expenses for getting to and from school, personal expenses such as shampoo and laundry detergent, and school supplies. Spending financial aid grants on something like a boob job is illegal, but there's not an easy way to catch it unless she were to tell a financial aid officer that she's doing that.Financial aid advisor, 2 years

are goverment education grants for truck driving school a myth ?We Answered:
Truck driving is an in demand occupation. Go up to your local unemployment office. They offer grants to pay for job training for any occupation that is in demand, as long as you currently do not have any other training or a degree already. My unemployment office gives up to $4,000 for job training, including truck driving.
Ralph Said:
Should the government offer enough education grants for anyone to be able to go to college? We Answered:
I'm for it, as long as the student meets the standards of academic performance and conduct that the school has established. It would be a good use of taxpayer dollars.
