Financial benefit what you get is only from your PF (as you have stated in your question). CL can't be considered for earned leave: In PF, generally 1/2 is your money and 1/2 is the institutional money along with the interest, if any, this is what you get when you leave the job. (PF will generally be late).
Your institution has to pay back you the money from PF

I've visited both The IOE is a 2min walk from my university (SOAS), and it really is a good university although quite small compared to CITY. the IOE is actually a university of London so it has the reputation of being a redbrick university allowing you to take language courses at SOAS or other modules at any other university of londons eg UCL, kings, imperial etc
Whereas City on the other hand is probably a larger university. in terms of the course maybe visit both to see what both have to offer. Both are easily accessible IOE can be accessed through russell sq/euston tube stations and city can be through angel/farringdon statiosn. Both are about 30mins away from each other.
For me personally i would choose the IOE for it being a university of london.

Its very expensive to go there its around seven and half grand. The teachers do give you a lot of notes and tell you whats coming up on the lc but its never a hundred percent. There aren't any clubs or groups to join, basicly no sports clubs or anything like that. Theres no accomodation provided by the institue so you'd have to find your own place to stay. I know it has a good reputation but there is over 400 people just in 6th year so there is 2 lot of students and only about 5 students get 600 points! Hope this gives you a better idea.
