You definitely can go anywhere and it would not make a difference. All teachers start out making the same amount of money no matter where your degree comes from or what subject you teach. Gym teachers are also a dime a dozen...but I don't think you could do anything to improve your chances of getting a job, unless, of course, you know someone that works at the school already =]

There are no college degrees that will make you famous. All they can do is educate you.

Go to the board of Ed. site for Illinois and they should provide you with the information you need for certification. Sometimes (depending on the state) you can get an emergency cert. - teach with that while you continue to get your certification.
