Right To Education Bill 2009

Gilbert Said:

How do people feel about this?Bill would have schools collect info on illegals?

We Answered:

I think it would be great to finally have some firm numbers on the cost of educating the children of illegals. The American taxpayer would be disgusted by the price tag and liberals would have no defense. Besides wanting to grant amensty for the purpose of gaining their votes. The ACLU is out to destroy this nation, just like La Raza and SPLC.

Arlene Said:

How do you like this Here's Your "Change": U.S. poverty on track to post record gain in 2009?

We Answered:

Oh yes, the Republicans caused this mess, sure and the Democrats, with full control of the Whitehouse, Senate, and House, able to push anything through they wanted to, have done nothing . Just llook at the great job they've doing! We're in deep debt, unemployment is rampant, and they will have the distinction of overseeing the greatest amount of poverty in the country since the '60's when that report comes out unless they can find a way to change the definitions in the reporting methods so apples are presented to compare with oranges. Sure glad they are in office. And by the way, Bill Clinton is the one who signed the bill to force banks to expand lending to those who coudn't afford it so everyone could own a home.

Gene Said:

Could Americans send Mexicos El Presidente a bill for taking care of his citizens?

We Answered:

What if Mexico gave us one free barrel of oil daily for every illegal that resides here?

Marilyn Said:

How does House Democrats push new comprehensive immigration bill relate to politics?

We Answered:

Immigration reform makes strange bedfellows. Many Democrats and Republicans find themselves not in their normal party lines. Because of that, the normal result is to loose too many votes in the President's party to be made up by votes coming in from the opposing party. The last time we had significant immigration reform was under a popular Republic President with a Democrat dominated House and Senate, under Reagan. Many now see that effort as a failure because it did nothing to help the long-term situation. Bush came close to passing something, again with a Republican President and Democratic Congress. We'll see if Obama can pass anything significant. I have my doubts. It's a tough area.

I don't think he'll push it seriously unless he thinks it has a shot, but if he does, the political implications would be that any bill that passes would be bipartisan. That's a benefit. It will also attract the latino vote, which tends to be a swing group (really it's many groups, some of which lean left, some right, and some, like Florida Cubans, have been in flux lately).
