It seems that the Founding Fathers and Obama are of two different schools of thought. The Founding Fathers didn't believe that the our rights came from the government, but were ours from birth, and that the Bill of Rights should not be construed as rights given to us by the Constitution, but protected by the Constitution. Obama, it seems, believes that our rights come from the government, and that the Bill of Rights actually gives the rights listed. He would have to, in order to believe that he could come up with a second Bill of Rights that guaranteed the "fair distribution of wealth", and the basic necessities of life. The problem with the government he wants to create is that it has way too much power. Any government big enough to give you everything you need, is powerful enough to take everything you have.

Did he earn the right? Absolutely not. Reality is that he hasn't earned the right to be running for president either. But I think he has earned the right to go back to Africa and stay there.

I'm ignorant on this and ashamed. However if it involves non-English speaking children attending school with English speaking children, I say we need to have separate schools until the non-English speaking students become fluent in English.

- With right to education bill in effect from April 1st, 2010, India joins a small group of countries with such a statutory provision. All children in the 6 to 14 age group can exercise the right under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. An estimated one crore children who do not go to school now are expected to benefit.

- As per the Act, private educational institutions should reserve 25 per cent seats for children from the weaker sections of society.

- The Centre and the States have agreed to share the financial burden in the ratio of 55:45, while the Finance Commission has given Rs. 25,000 crore to the States for implementing the Act. The Centre has approved an outlay of Rs.15,000 crore for 2010-2011.

- The school management committee or the local authority will identify the drop-outs or out-of-school children aged above six and admit them in classes appropriate to their age after giving special training. As per the Act, the schools need to have minimum facilities such as adequate teachers, playground and infrastructure.

- The Act says no school can deny admission to a student and all schools need to have trained teachers. In case of schools not having trained teachers, they will have to comply with the provision within three years.

- the reservation for weaker section will not be implemented from this year as the admission season is almost over. It will be implemented from 2011-12.

- Both aided and non-aided schools across the country have to follow the legislation.

- Minority schools were not exempt from the act.
