Right To Education In India

Jaime Said:

When was right to education included in the constitution as a fundamental right in India?

We Answered:

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act comes into force in India on April 1, 2010. Education is henceforth a fundamental right for all children aged between six and 14 in India. This is the first time that a Fundamental Right has been added to the Constitution of India since its promulgation in 1950

Education syllabus is right in INDIA. Is there a change required ?

We Answered:

India's youth, comprising over 50 percent of its population, is referred to as its demographic dividend. But the future of this youth is not secured with commensurate policies in their favour. India needs to improve the availability, affordability and quality of high education.
A land of contradictions and dichotomies which extend to the area of education as well, India needs to liberalize the education system, encouraging the migration of students from one state to another and providing more scholarships and loans to students from the poor and middle class." said Minister of Urban Development S Jaipal Reddy, at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2007.
"We have the IITs and IIMs at one of the scale, and teacher-less schools at the other." To correct these imbalances, India needs to strengthen linkages with its Diaspora. "
To realize its potential, it needs to improve the quality of existing colleges, universities and technical institutes. There are 367 universities and 18000 colleges with 11.2 million students on their rolls, and half a million teachers. The Government has provided CBSE affiliation to 140 schools outside India and also reserved 15 percent of seats in all technical colleges for NRIs' children.
Improving higher education means increasing the gross enrolment ratio from 10 percent to at least the world average of 23 percent. Equity and inclusion to give access to higher education to deserving students regardless of their socio-economic status is another imperative. Colleges and universities need better funding to improve the quality of education because demand for higher education outstrips supply.
On the other hand the private sector is guided by social and philanthropic concerns in the education arena. This limits the scope of Private investment and FDI in Indian institutes.
Foreign institutions, when they set up in India, should be complementary with the Indian education system and not compete with it, to strengthen what already exists in the country.
India needs to improve the availability, affordability and quality of high education. This can be achieved through liberalizing the education system, encouraging the migration of students from one state to another and providing more scholarships and loans to students from the poor and middle class.

How many persons are involved in a kid's education right from Pre Kg Admission in India?

We Answered:

It is a crazy process indeed in India. With the population and the competition that follows - admission into even the preschool level of well reputed schools are tough. However there are many private preschools and many new schools coming up too. If you find getting into the competition crazy - then get out of it. Find a private preschool close to home and later find a school that is not in the competition but is warm and has the right people and curriculum in place. Get out of the rat race....life is 'not' a race :)

Jennie Said:

Do u think education system in India is going in right direction by omitting 10th BOARDS?

We Answered:

Absolutely not.If we eliminate board from the 10th standard, then we will be playing will the future of the students, because in the entire school life, most of the students get serious because of the boards. If board exam is removed it will definitely hamper the future of the students,as board exam helps in dealing with tough and slightly a pressurised situation at an age when a child is growing up.

Its important to change the attitude of the society ie parents, teacher & peers,to not to put much pressure on children, but encourage them and guide them to study in the right manner & let them create a healty competition.
