Sandra Said:
is there a curriculum for special education in the United States? We Answered:
Special Ed students follow a modified satndard curricullum--The CORE CURRICULLUM CONTENT STANDARDS....
so oeven if they are 18---they will have an IEP based on the standards--but they may be based on a younger age----as young as pre school
for example--they may still be learning self help skills at the pre k level or may be learning reading skills at the 4th grade level...
being that special ed ranges from profound needs (learning to communictae using eye gaze or swallow...to mild needs like dyslexia--there woul dbe numerous volumes to have an actual curricullum

Where can i find peer reviewed articles about grading of special education students in inclusive classrooms? We Answered:
If you are an educator -or, for that matter, a student- one of the better resources (and certainly the least costly) is your college/universitie's online library, Accessing peer-reviewed journal article via ERIC, JSTOR, and the likes -without an affiliation to a school- often has charges associated with reviewing or downloading anything other than an Abstract. For your convenience, I've listed a few links to web sites that might be of some value to you in your research:
(1) Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
(2) Special Education Needs and Inclusive Education: Major Themes in Education (2004)
(3) Pathways to Teaching Series: Practical Strategies for the Inclusive Classroom
(4) Progress monitoring in an Inclusive Standards-based Assessment and Accountability System
I hope this is helpful ... good luck!

I can't find the link now, but I'll keep looking-- There was Project PGP a few years back that was about personalized grading plans and it was written up in several journals.
