Yes it is, even if i have friends who are illegal i do. Everyone in my class well most idk cause not all of the students speak their opinion are wanting the dream act to pass. I've met people who are illegal and have a House, a good Car, a good Job. Then i met friends U.S citizen family who are having a hard time in paying the rent to an apartment and have a low paying job. It's not fair. That money from the dream act could go to U.S Citizens because we need it too. :/ I don't hate illegals. I just don't think it's fair either. I know that if i were in there position i most likely be thinking the same. But if you were a U.S citizen and you see illegals with better jobs. You think the same as me. By the way i am a teenager. I know Thumbs down if you want. You know it's selfish.

Who says employers look for 5 years or + working visa? On work permit its employer job to arrange work permit anyway. Someone misinformed you.

You friend needs to apply for job & even if she has some kind of work visa (issued with some work permit) wont be valid, she would need a new permit for job & a new stay visa will be arranged by the employer. Work permits are usually issued on yearly basis (in some cases for three years) .. work permits are never issued for 5 years duration.

I went to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales with people to people last year. I know what its like to want to go sooo badly but having money as an issue. What i did was pay for half of the trip while my parents paid the other half. This made it a little easier on us.

To make my share of the money, i got a bunch of money from my grandparents/aunts & uncles, babysat for a couple of months, saved all the money made from christmas/my birthday and took some money out of my savings. By the time May came around (when the tuition is due) I made a little over $3,000.

If you are really having trouble with it, i do know some kids from my delegation who actually got $1,000 loans from people to people (that they hve to start paying off in September). If you want to consider it, try calling the program office to find out how to apply for it.
