Theatre In Education

Willie Said:

How long would it take for me to graduate college if I majored in theatre education and psychology?

We Answered:

If you want to do a double major, be prepared for a lot of work. Since it seems neither of your majors will over lap (except for general education coursework), you are going to be doing about 120 hours (generally the advanced coursework is about 60 credit hours and multiplied by 2 for your double major) so you should multiply 120 x your tuition/fee rate at your school to get an idea how much your second degree will cost. It will not be cheap.

The amount of time you are in college depends entirely on you. If you are capable, take 15+ hours every semester and try to take a full load during the summer.

Talk to your advisors and do some serious degree planning.

Good luck!

Julliard is the Mecca for Theatre.

Dora Said:

What do you think is important to a Musical Theatre College Education?

We Answered:

To be honest, I think it would be an incredible waste of money.....getting a job in the arts is as likely as someone getting a job playing professional sports.

But if you want to blow $35,000 dollars a year for college and in return only make $12,000 a year (not counting your second and third part time jobs), go for it.
