Well some of your "friends" and family may have given up on you because they may think that you had given up on you by not graduating from the same high school they will. MAYBE they thought you should have tried a little harder, I don't know the circumstances so that's really a shot in the dark. Make the most of this opportunity to get things done & get your diploma, though. Keep your head up.

I'm not from NY, but try getting on your local schools web page and look them up.
That's how I found Bailey Alternative High school in my area. Usually you have to apply to get in these schools, and have to be interviewed and such. They really want to take care of you there and help you graduate.
